(6) Hand-held diagnostic instruments using novel aroma luminescence method for in vivo monitoring of the quality of fruit (+)
A Portuguese R&D company has developed a new class of portable diagnostic equipment for monitoring the quality of fruit using the aroma luminescence method. A London-based company has developed a system for document authentication, that allows differentiating an authentic item from a fraudulent one. The system is based on the company’s proprietary optical technique for measuring the microscopic imperfections of a surface into a physical identity code that is unique (with the probability of two naturally-occurring codes matching being as low as 10^150). The company is seeking industrial partners interested in implementing this technology.
