A French SME has developed a technology used in the "host integration" business to connect existing mainframe applications to the outside world. This product may be used for the "Webisation" of existing mainframe "green screen" applications, or for the integration of these precious legacy applications via SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) Web services within new business processes. The product applies to any systems. This SME is looking for commercial agreement with technical assistance.

This software is an XML-to-Host integration middleware. The product hooks in existing mainframe applications using the existing systems proprietary protocols and converts instantly "on the fly" data to the XML (eXtended Markup Language) format. Then, this XML can be used through XSLT (eXtended Stylesheet Language Transformation) style sheets to produce HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) Web pages or it can be used to produce SOAP 1.1 Web services. This enables the product to be used in a "Webisation" context (turn existing green screen mainframe applications to 100% HTML pages) or in a programmatic server approach (expose programmatic services to other applications).

This product runs within any type of application server as WebSphere, Weblogic, JoNAS, JBoss and Tomcat, on any Java compliant platform (Windows, Linux, UNIX).

Innovative Aspects:

The mainframe integration industry already used this type of software, but this product is innovative in several aspects:

- The heart of the product is XML. This gives tremendous flexibility to create HTML rendering templates and is the base to create SOAP Web services

- The key feature of the product is the non-intrusive aspect. This implies that no modifications are required on the existing application

- Due to the XML-centric architecture, the same product can be used for Web publication and integration
